04.06.2026Special exhibition 2026: “Phenomenon Bach Festivals”

125 years ago the Leipzig-based New Bach Society invented regular Bach Festivals and celebrated its first such festival in Berlin in 1901. Today, more than 70 Bach festivals are celebrated each year around the world. From 4 June the exhibition at the Bachhaus tells the story of a phenomenon.

The light installation “In Versus F: Licht als Partitur – Architektur als Klang”[Light as Score – Architecture as Sound] by the light artist Ingo Bracke can be seen at the Bachhaus every Saturday evening until 11 p.m. and on the evenings before public holidays. Photo: Ingo Bracke
